Last spring we had a deer on our block that had two babies. She got super protective of them, to the point where she chased anybody who walked down the street. So people started going around the block to avoid her.
I chose not to go around the block, and subsequently had a couple run-ins with her. Each time, as I approched the corner where she stood watch, I would fomulate an argument in my head about how I had the right to walk down the street I live on. And how I've lived on this street for ten years. And I own a house. And pay property taxes.
I wonder if paying property taxes is a persuasive argument to a deer.
